Screen showing black squares in Pokemon X - Citra Support - Citra

Issue: I have spent 17 hours playing the game. Only 1 gym left, hadn’t had any problems before with this file. I boot up Citra and the game freezes. I close it and boot it up again, only to see that the upper screen was filled with black squares. This had happened to me before with Pokemon Moon. Does anyone know what to do to solve this?
